Since my childhood, the structures of nature have always fascinated me. Trees, plants, and mushrooms enchant me. Even grey and inhospitable rock or mountain landscapes wake creativity and a “joie de vivre” in me. The endless weather and light patterns only serve to enhance this. I’ve always tried to reflect these images in my painting.
I also draw upon experiences and impressions from my social life. I’ve been fortunate enough to know a wide variety of people and see a lot of different places and situations.
I grew up in Interlaken. After a sheltered and dreamy childhood, I learned to be a textile salesman, but my creativity was somewhat stifled. After various interim jobs, I got into building construction work, and used my spare time to study my true occupation. From 1996-1998, I completed evening courses in Art… learning portraits and comic illustration.
I did a lot of practical street art, as well as studio work, and after some time my skills were noticed. I got commissions to do public art projects from municipal governments such as painting an underpass in Hilterfingen. next >>
